3/31/24 Why the Resurrection is Important
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:1-20
Evangelist: Bro. Ian D. Nickerson, Sr.
- Life has a way of putting you in context where you have to choose between two events
- Life is filled with difficult decisions that must be made.
- But where do you stand of the resurrection of Jesus Christ
- Paul says, “If the dead is not raised, then Christ is not raised. If Christ is still dead then we are. in trouble.” The resurrection of Christ is imperative to us as believers.
- Christ is risen from the dead!
- The resurrection of Jesus proves your faith is not in vain
- 1 Cor. 15:14, 17
- When the odds are against you, you reach a point in life where the only thing that makes you sane is that you have faith that God is able to make a way out of no way!
- If Christ is dead, your faith has no power. It’s just empty wishes
- Your faith gives you legs to stand on
- God is able!
- No matter what you face, God is able!
- The reason the resurrection matters is that it proves that my forgiveness is valid. 1 Cor. 15:17
- If Christ is not risen our sins still stain our soul.
- But! Since Christ lives, my sins can be washed away!
- I owe the Lord because he took my place!
- If you cross the line from unbelief to belief that Jesus died for your sins. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is the son of the living God
- Repent and make a change and willing to be baptized your faith will not be in vain
- His death gives me the power to belief that I can be changed and not be a prisoner to past behaviors. That God will set me free!
