7/16/23 I’m Not in Sin, but Not in Victory

Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-20

1. We are a three-fold spiritual being, not a dual being.
2. ​Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
3. You can’t see your own face. You have seen a reflection of it in the mirror
4. The same is true of your spirit; you can not see your spirit. You only see it when you look in God’s word. God’s word is a mirror image of our spirit

9. God has placed some power in us! It is the same power that worked to raise Jesus from the dead. Ephesians 1:14
10. ​I must read the word through my spirit. I can do all things through Christ in my spirit. However, when I read with my body, I feel defeated, that I cannot do it.
11. As you renew your mind and believe God’s word, your soul will agree with what has already transpired in your spirit
12. You cut yourself off from experiencing what God has for you when you see, hear, and feel in the body instead of perceiving what he has for you.
