7-23-23 Remember Who You Are

Scripture: James 1:23-25

1. I am a Spirit, I have a Soul, I live in a Body
2. My Spirit is the real me, my soul is my personality, and my body is the house that I live in on earth
3. God defines you as a threefold spiritual being
4. 1 Thessalonians 5:23

6. Ephesians 1:3
7. There is power that you have now that you are in Christ Jesus
8. You’ve never seen yourself without something outside of yourself. Whether it’s someone else or something else
9. What’s your Spirit look like? How do you know what it looks like?
10. John 6
11. When you get into the word you can see what your spirit looks like
12. The word tells us we are saved when we are born again through baptism
13. 2 Corinthians 5:17
14. ​It’s not your body that’s new…it’s still corrupt. Not emotions and feelings. That’s now new. What happens instantaneously is that your spirit is born again!
15. Old things are passed away and all things become new!
16. My spirit man is brand new. I am one with Christ Jesus. Like Christ 1 John 4:17
17. We still deal with our emotions but our spirit is born again
18. A time will come when we receive a glorified body 1 Cor 15:53
19. Your body will be saved
20. God is already paid for you, Christ died on the cross for you and he will come back for you Ephesians 1:13
21. There will come a time where you will be asked to show your credentials. Do you have a right to make heaven your home?
22. You will have to have the gift of the Holy Spirit and if you don’t have it, heaven can’t be your home
23. Your soul is being saved
24. You have agency in that. You can help save your own soul and work out your own salvation
25. Soul salvation-happens when an emotionally discouraged and mentally defeated Christian starts believing God’s word and then experience victory, peace, and joy
26. We have Christians who are living defeated lives. You are on your way to heaven but not enjoying the ride there. You have the ability to enjoy the journey to heaven
27. We allow our emotions and lust of the flesh to control and dominate our lives
28. We have to remember who we are. We are not our emotions. We are spirits and we have the ability to control our emotions
29. We have some belief systems that we need to align to God’s word
30. James 1:21, John 17:17
31. When I obey God’s word I am purifying my soul
32. You can loose your soul day to day, moment to moment. We have to obey God’s word to keep from losing our soul. Your soul can be transformed
33. Your soul can be transformed by obeying God’s word
34. Remember who you are
35. We have to remember to get out of our feelings
36. We get into our feelings and we allow our emotions to control us and define us. Even in our feelings we have to remember who we are
37. Go through the book of Ephesians and look and see what the Bible says you are. Remember who you are!
38. You are chosen by God, You are forgiven by God, The angels praise God because what He does in your life
39. You become the praise of God’s glory! Ephesians 1:18 you are God’s inheritance! God is looking forward to having you with Him! That’s who you are! You are worthy of God’s power and walk in victory!
40. You are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus!
41. No matter what happens or the situation, don’t forget who you are!
42. If you have been born again you don’t have to wonder who you are. You are a child of God!
