- Don’t allow yourself to be offended. You could lose your soul over an offense
- The #1 thing that derails leaders is they get caught in the offense trap.
- Three stages of the offense trap. 1. The bait – when someone or some thing hurts you and Satan uses it as Bait to get you caught in the OFFENSE TRAP! Luke 17:1 2. The wait – When you close your spirit Matt 18:17 3. The Break – when you get bent out of your original character! Matthew 24:10-14
- What is a closed spirit? When your spirit closes due to you getting hurt, damaged, or offended, and the pain bends you out of your original character. You literally stop being who you are, you are no
- Luke 17:1 – Then Jesus said it is impossible that no offenses will come
- You must endure the disappointment so you can get the appointment and receive the anointment.
- Three results of a closed spirit. Matthew 18:21-35. 1. When you close your spirit to another person, you close your spirit to God! 2. When you close your spirit to God, you close your spirit to yourself. 3. When you close your spirit to yourself, you close your spirit to every person who is significant in your life!

- An open spirit allows your relationships to be open to God, significant others, and yourself
- God holds you accountable for the opening and closing of your spirit
- How to get out of the offense trap: 1. Acknowledge to yourself when you are offended, don’t lie to yourself! 2. Learn how to keep your spirit open at all times, no matter what happens! 3. Remind yourself that being offended is a choice and God holds you accountable for it 4. Always forgive your offender and keep your spirit open, no matter what! Even when they don’t deserve it!
