- For the love of Money, Why give? Matthew 6:24
- 1. My giving glorifies God
- 2. My giving is an act of governance
- 3. My giving is an act of godliness
- 4. My giving is an act of generosity
- 5. My giving is an act of gratitude
- Your community and finances matter Joshua 7:1-12
- 1. Neglecting the call to community
- 2. Not faithful with your finances
- 3 problems: He had the problem of materialism, He misses what he had, He made a mistake
- So cherish the call to community and be faithful with your finances
- Question 1: Do I give from my net income or gross income?
- Proverbs 3:9-10; Matthew 6:25-33
- The pattern that we see in scripture is that people gave from the top. Which would be our gross
- You have to seek ye first the Kingdom of God
- So do you give from your net or gross? You give from your gross (your first fruit)
- Question 2: Am I expected to give from unexpected income? 1 Corinthians 16:1-2; Proverbs 3:9-10
- Prosper-to help us on the road; it is a combination of earning and gaining
- Give out of what you have been prospered..so yes
- Question 3: What if I am unemployed? 2 Corinthians 8:12; 1 Corinthians 16:2
- If you are unemployed you are not prospered. You have no income
- Question 4:
- How often am I to give? Deuteronomy 14:23; 1 Corinthians 16:2
- On the first day. You always bring your offering to God
- Question 5: Does charitable giving count towards my giving? Deuteronomy 12:5; Deuteronomy 14:22-23; Malachi 3:10
- Bring all the tithes into the storehouse. Give faithfully to God first
- God will bless us with everything we need and more if we all just do what God called us to do with giving
- Stay faithful in your finances and God will take care of you
