6/23/24 Seeing God in the Midst of the Storm

Scripture: Acts 27:9-12, 14-16, 18-22
Preacher: Bro. Troy Tabor

  1. When you are walking in the Lord and doing good, it will cause the adversary to create ways to stop you
  2. Storms represent many things and look like many things. They can be trial and tribulation, oppositions or obstacles, mistakes or messes
  3. However the storm ends up in your life, you have to find a way to survive the storm
  4. Tools like God’s love bank helps us navigate the storm
  5. 3 Different ways storms come into your life: 1. By choices and mistakes. They come as a result of a bad choice and mistake of what God didn’t want us to do. 2. You’re being considered like Job. Doing everything God asked us to do but in the midst God allows the enemy to touch the natural stuff in our life. 3. God is giving you an assignment and in order to fulfill it, you have to overcome the adversary. When David wanted to be king, he had to overcome Goliath
  6. There will be times you are around others that they will make a decision that will affect your life, but you have to be able to see God to make it through the storm
  7. We can’t control the storm. God does. As difficult as they may be, storms have a season and don’t last always.
  8. Hold on to your faith and find God. You can endure the storm and have a testimony for others
  9. You are the difference maker that can help others get through the storm
  10. Paul fasted and waited to hear the voice of God. Isaiah 58 talks about fasting.
  11. 1. Fasting looses the bond of wickedness. 2. Helps us undo heavy burdens. 3. Help us let the oppressed go free. It can give us spiritual strength. 4. Break every yolk.
  12. It also sanctifies our souls so we are not selfish on our pursuits. Isaiah 58:7
  13. Fasting helps re-regulate our bodies and help us focus on getting healthy
  14. When we are struggling and going through storms, God wants us to see Him by focusing on our faith. See the invisible, say the impossible, believe the unbelievable, and expect a miracle
