12/18/22 Wait on the Lord
Scripture: Luke 2:25
Evangelist: Bro. Ian D. Nickerson, Sr.
- Simeon is devote, just, and the Holy Spirit is upon him
- The Holy Spirit revealed to Simeon that he would not die until he sees the Christ.
- When walking faithfully with God, you must Wait on God
- There is a delay in what God promises and what he performs
- We equate waiting with wasting. Then we begin to wander and worry
- Waiting is an expression of your faith in God
- Angels and divine signs points us to Jesus. These are external confirmations
- Simeon received the message through prayer and reading of scripture
- How many prayers do you have to have answered, how many bills do you have to have paid, how many promotions do you have to have to know that God is going to do what he said he was going to do?
- I have enough faith in God to take him at his word. God is more than able to make it happen!
- I believe it because He said it in His word!
- When we wait too long, we doubt and we wonder IF….
- How long does God get before you fire him?
- When you wait, God works, but when you work, God waits. You must learn to give God time to finish his work while you wait.
- Before your prayer can be answered, God has to work through other lives to be able to answer your prayer
- What do you do while you wait?
- Keep worshipping while you are waiting for the Lord to answer your prayers. Still give Him thanks and call on His name. Remain faithful!
- Whatever God has you working on, it is worth the wait!
- Don’t you die before you receive salvation in Jesus!
